My OH has declared he wants to lose 3 stone. We went to Center Parcs for the weekend and he wasn't happy with what he saw in the mirror when he put his swimmers on
So it's now low carb din dins for him every evening. Making him Lentil Pasta tonight with veg mixed in and Chicken breast with a garlic and herb seasoning. He can have nutritional yeast sprinkled on the top too (instead of cheese). Yogurt for dessert and a miserable face for the rest of the night, no doubt
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I should/want/need to lose 3 to 4 kg, so I am on the Michael Mosely 5:2 plan, today is one of my 800 cal days, the second this week, so far I have had greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts for breakfast, cup of earl grey with lemon plus 2 x Nairns oat biscuits with stem ginger mid afternoon, and for supper I will have 2 poached eggs on soda bread toast, no butter or spread.
On my 'fast' days I don't have breakfast until 11 am or after, and I make sure I have eaten supper by 7pm.
I have done this before and find it works well for me. We have eaten a lot of restaurant meals over the last few weeks and it is beginning to show!
I have tried to persuade OH to do it with me, as he really, really needs to ...but he says he quite likes having a tummy shaped like an inverted wok
I’m sat watching my OH prepare our evening meal. We’re having roasted peppers, potatoes, carrots, courgettes, onions, served with Parma ham wrapped cod with a homemade tartare sauce. Lunch was a chicken salad made by my own fair hands. I was hoping to shed some pounds whilst I’m here but it’s going well!
I like the sound of your supper LL, cod with Parma ham sounds so good.
We are off out for lunch again today...it is really great meeting up with chums, but I think sometimes I would rather just meet up in a lovely coffee bar with a good latte and home made scone rather than some posh restaurant. I think that, due to covid, when we do meet up with chums we haven't seen for some time, a big deal has to be made of it , which is lovely, but I am done with foams and veloutes for a while ...gimme a home made steak pie and chips please....does wonders for me 5:2 plan
I have made fishcakes for tonight's supper, with spinach, dill and lemon, we will have them with roasted peppers, courgettes and cauliflower and a new potato salad....we may be lucky and be able to eat al fresco, fingers crossed. I also have a nice little Cotes de Provence rose chilling.
Do you do anything special/traditional for eater Sunday lunch....I know lamb is traditional...I think...but the thought of eating those little white fluffy things that are skipping about the famer's fields at the moment just doesn't seem right

Tonight I ate two chicken fajitas. Both with sour cream and grated cheese put in them at the dinner table. To cook I mixed red onion and bell peppers in with the chicken and gave it a good stir. The fajita sachet I used smelt divine, too.
I'd advise EVERYONE try that for a meal. Trust me: you won't go wrong.
