I only have one little cat now, she's just 2, had her about a year, she's a very needy little thing, follows me everywhere, even waits outside the toilet door for me, sits by the window when I go out and comes running to greet me when I come home, that sort of cat, she's lovely. I play with her a lot she likes chase games with her string and feather. Played with her before I went out, was only gone 45 minutes but when I came back she walked really slowly down the hall towards me and lost her balance on her back legs twice before she got to me, not limping, swaying like someone drunk. She recovered quickly and was then walking normally but I thought she was altogether a bit "slower" than usual. She's curled up on her favourite chair beside me at the moment, quite peaceful but I'm worried as last year we suddenly lost our deaf cat with a neurological condition and I've been reading tonight about cat's back legs swaying when it's something to do with the brain.
After losing our old cat a few weeks ago, I can't bare any more bad news.
Has anyone else experienced this with their cat?
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Vet thinks she may have hurt her spine while playing the feather game with OH, he now remembers her lumping into the cupboard the day before and also has some inflammation to her gums. Given her anti-inflammatories and antibiotics and said to see if she improves. Doing this before they they do anything else like scans etc. She's quiet but no worse at the moment. Fingers crossed.
