Just typical, I thought that I would do this today, and as usual when this day comes around, not a flipping bird in sight, they’re probably around but not in my garden:-
Oh My - how lucky to have all those Goldfinches! I just saw the usual Robins, Blackbirds, Crows, Pigeons, Bluetits, Great tits, Long Tailed Tits (my favourites), greater spotted woodpecker and an occasional sparrow
Goldfinches are so pretty Jazzy. Do you have bird feeders? Oh I missed it. However, I saw a large flock of birds in a beech tree in the garden and couldnt identify them. Got the binoculars out and looked at the RSPB website. Binoculars weren’t strong enough for me to see the detail! Grrr. I’ll be keeping my eyes open today.
You have got a good amount VW, love Long Tailed Tits too, we get a Green Woodpecker, saw one too late for my list.
No, I don’t have bird feeders LLCC, I just put a slice of granary bread and apple slices on the patio table, but I had a bit of luck with the Goldfinches as I was upstairs and I could hear them twittering, went to the window and they were feasting on the Silver Birch catkins, so close and quite easy to count, Teasel plants are another good one to attract them too, loads in the field opposite us.

They could have been waxwings - a flock has passed through here recently. Rare for us, and beautiful to see
