We crashed a holiday party at the hotel where our offices are today .Held by the rising fashion industry . Several hundred people including people in the industry and buyers from US companies .
Overheard a female designer say how she wud like to design a line of women's clothes with fully functioning pockets like you find with man's coats, pants, jeans .Women's pockets are more decorative, part of the guiding rule in women's fashion that the purpose is to make women look as good as possible for men and the lack of real pockets for women is sexist .
I agree.Join me in my new cause of the fight against pocket inequality !!
Interesting thought though. A line of clothes for women with lots of pockets, which takes away the streamline effect of women's clothing, so they look like men . The designer has forgotten women have handbags for all their stuff and the handbag a huge fashion accessory of its own? Good bag, nice shoes..perfect.
Often see men with their bulging pockets of phone, ciggies, keys all stuffed in their jeans, what a rotten look. Enter the man bag, great invention, meaning you don't keep asking your wife/partner to carry all your stuff in their nice handbag. Got some nice handbags, they're very personal things, a women's territory, so irks me when OH asks me to put all his stuff in it and my bag ends up looking less of an accessory and more like a bulging rucksack with his stuff pushing at the seams.
One day will we all be wearing the same clothing, a global unisex uniform
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I do agree that bigger pockets for me would be useful, I don’t like taking a handbag to the supermarket, thinking when I am distracted by shopping, someone could grab my bag (just to say I don’t live in an area known for crime 😳) but I haven’t got a single pocket that’s big enough to hold my large purse and phone!
How do you deal with this situation, I would be grateful for any advice, thank you 😊
Understand your concerns on that Jazzy, something I haven't thought about. I suppose if you're only carrying a phone and purse you don't really need a handbag but still need somewhere to put them.
My youngest uses a bumbag which hangs at the front and a loose top over, so you can't see the bag anyway. gets her phone and coin purse in it with enough room for her door keys and a couple of other little items too , like those nylon shopping bags that fold into a square:)

Bumbags are the way to go to keep things close - worn across the body. I was asked to make them in the summer for girls going to festivals
