I have the most beautiful new book, called Floriography:
Floriography is the 'language of flowers'. Dating back to the Victorian times floriography was used as a means of coded communication through various flowers and fauna. Example, Clover means "think of me", Tansy - hostility, Basil -hate etc., The book reveals how to send coded messages through bouquets or single flowers, really beautiful illustrations and interesting history of the flowers.
It peaked my interest after watching the series "The lost flowers of Alice Hart" on Amazon Prime, about a refuge for women on a flower farm in Australia, an older Sigourney Weaver plays a wonderful role in this.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
It is a very beautiful book BT, I have checked the book out on Amazon and the coloured illustration plates are gorgeous, you could almost frame each one.
That’s interesting B. Lovely to find something to enjoy and learn from. Will you be making up bouquets to send to certain people? Now I know about basil, I will be on the look out!
Oh, Bella, "Floriography", the secret language of flowers has also been very popular in France, and this book seems beautiful and interesting . I've just ordered it, due on Friday. Thanks a lot !
Glad you girls liked the look of it and I'm sure you'll really treasure your copy Shaliby - I was thinking that it would make a beautiful gift for someone at Christmas, accompanied with a coded bouquet, then the recipient could look up each flower from the book and reveal your message
I must point out, this book isn't about the Alice Hart series, just happens to be about the same theme as the drama. I highly recommend the Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, really unusual series and apart from the very profound story, it's lovely to see all the Australian flowers and their meanings brought into the story.

Eternal attachment and everlasting friendship and Jasmine to tell a friend they bring you joy how beautiful Shaliby, if that was for me I am really honoured
I send you Buttercup, Rose and Eucalyptus
