I have an old display cabinet which I'm planning on upcycling - I've used Annie Sloan chalk paint before but I've seen there's a product called Frenchic which is chalk & mineral paint .... has anyone else used it, or do you have any suggestions of products you've used successfully?
I have used Frenchic Jax - a lot. I find it brilliant. I can paint any surface with it. I use Frenchic Alfresco in Constance Moss colour.
The UPVC front door was completely transformed with this paint, with only a very light sanding required. The bathroom ceiling, also, a panelled wall in the lounge and 2 garden benches. It is the best paint I have used. The Alfresco is good for indoor and outdoor. It has a strange smell almost a leather smell to it. It is a smallish can but goes a long way. One of my girls is also going to paint her UPVC front door in it in Black Jack. They have a good colour range.
I hope you post a before and after, I love looking at transformations.

I’ve heard others say Frenchic is brilliant but never tried it myself. I remember Sunny Days using Annie Sloan. She hurt her arm from over doing it! Do you have to prep wood first for Frenchic or just put it straight on any surface?
They have a 'lazy' range, which incorporates a primer and a sealer all in one - that's the one I've bought in a colour called 'Stone Rosie' which is a nice neutral. I have started sanding the cabinet (ok, mostly my OH is doing it because he likes an excuse to get his tool-kit out!) because I think I'll get a better finish, but hopefully by the weekend it might be ready to slap a bit of paint on. Will let you know how it goes.
I once suggested to hubs that I should have a go at upcycling. He looked over his glasses and smiled. He knew me too well. I don't really have any imagination and any item of furniture would be worse for my efforts. I do enjoy looking at other people's creations though.

Never tried the Lazy range Jax, will be good to see what you achieve. I always used Alfresco, a lot of what I've done is outdoors but it works equally well indoors too. My bathroom ceiling is lovely.
Trisha, shame you didn't have a go.. you can use other peoples imagination off Pinterest these days.
