or has this felt like a long and chilly Winter? It's nearly the end of April, but my house is still cold ... no doubt being frugal with the central heating has contributed to this, but I really feel like it's been a very long Winter and apart from the odd day of sunshine which has been a joy, I don't feel the end is in sight yet, still wearing jumpers, thick socks and have the winter duvet on the bed.
(I'm in the South of England, I appreciate some of us are fortunate enough to live in warmer climes)
Yes Jax, it has been a long and chilly Winter, there has also been a fair amount of rain over here, which we definitely need, rain all last night and again today, this is great for farm crops, it was a poor harvest last year because the Spring was so dry, my hay didn’t do well, resulting in half the income of the previous year.
I’m having the heating on less, and only ever use the summer duvet all year, just adding a fleece or two during really cold nights.
Not just you, I totally agree and been saying the very same to friends this week. Next weeks forecast isn’t any better! I hope we don’t get a scorcher summer to make up for it!

Agreed. I want my money back! I expected a milder, or at least, a shorter winter.
It's been absolutely baltic these last couple of days We have the log burner chugging away again, as I have logs sitting there and I don't want to use the gas, albeit bottle gas. We have no mains in this area too rural.
Came back yesterday from Lidl (that's my life !) and changed back into socks and boots as I was soooo cold.
I see Spain is having a heat wave. We are going to have to change our way of living now to compensate for climate change. I'm glad we live in the UK
I have also been lighting the log burner again, stopped lighting a couple of weeks ago, I think that the good thing about this cold snap is it makes the weather seem right for this time of year and that can’t be a bad thing surely.
Rather pleasant here, or is it just I prefer a cooler climate. Been gardening for 2 days, more than pleased with myself. Trying to get all the heavy hard work done while the ground is still diggable, because last summer was bloody awful heat wise and couldn't even sit in the garden because of it.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Definitely colder again oop North, still have the full winter duvet on plus electric blanket for a couple of hours before bedtime. Although the temperatures do seem to go from totally nippy noodles to so balmy that I think about getting me sandals out, which does feel a bit strange. Then again, we are nearing May so hopefully these cold spells will disappear soon.
I am definitely a summer person in most regards, clothes and footwear, food, social bits, nothing nicer than lunching al fresco with chums in a lovely square or garden, we did that one day last week for the first time this year, think it was Tuesday.

Yes, roll on summer.
We have just re-started the wood burner as the dog is being toilet trained to go outside, so we have the french doors open all day, and it's a little parky for that.
