I' like to know if you've ever read any of his books, and how you like them.* After reading (some years ago) "The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim" - 2010, and now "The Rotters' Club" - 2001 , The Closed Circle- 2004,Bournville - 2022 and "What a Carve Up "-1997 , I really think he's one of the best British novelists these days ! Clever political analysis, devastating humor, somewhat ..."borderline" characters ... Great !
The titles sound very interesting and your description of him too Shaliby - how come I've not heard of him! I'll look on Amazon and find out more about each book you've mentioned
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Bella : I'm sure that (if younger), I'd select him as a subject for a thesis ! Historical survey , psychology, "style", humour, parody (of "gothic" films or novels), and as he's a musician too, a lot of links to "You Tube", as well as in his building his novels as a musical piece. Which may be too much at a time... The 1rst of his books I ever read was "The terrible privacy of Maxwell Sims "
"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Terrible_Privacy_of_Maxwell_Sim and I'd think it could be Ok to discover his books.
Wishing you'll enoy reding it (or any other of his novels) !
