Yesterday morning started quite early with YS leaving for work at 6.30 and OH disappearing off to at 6.45. Just have a quick coffee in peace before my chores and my grandchild appearing at 9.00 with my SIL.
7.30 YS races back, having forgotten his phone and company would not let him work without it ! Sore point. He growled and grumbled and then disappeared back out.
8.30 my daughter phones whilst on way to work to fill me in on grandchilds night as he has been poorly with yet another virus, hence I'm doing extra coverage too. As she talks on the landline, my mobile phone is ringing and it is SIL. I say to her I'll have to go and answer this...
I answer my mobile to my SIL, to which his words are...'I hate my life!'
"what's the matter?" I ask
"I was defrosting the car and I have run out of fuel!" (Clearly didn't have a lot in the first place!)
Fortunately I am showered and dressed at this point..
"Not to worry, I'll find a can and stop at the garage, before coming over to you and pick up grandchild. Better not tell your wife" (my daughter)
To which we both here this shouting "I CAN HEAR YOU BOTH!!!!"
I had forgotten to switch the landline phone off and she was listening to our conversation I was in pleats laughing.
I take 2 cans with me, give SIL 1, take grandchild and get home to discover the one remaining has leaked in my boot
It's only 10.00 by this point can the day get better
Blimey, I’m exhausted reading all that Sunny Days! I’m going for a lay down! Hope tomorrow is an easier start for you. Put bicarbonate of soda on where the petrol spilt as its great at absorbing smells and liquids.
Sunny reading about your morning antics has left me feeling shattered. You need a soothing cuppa and a medal for being an absolute star in the face of adversity. I hope that you manage to get the petrol smell from your car boot.
