Bought new lampshades from Next which arrived via store collection, this week. After unwrapping all the cellophane and putting them in place, disposing of the boxes etc, it wasn’t till bedtime that I noticed one was dented in a couple of places. I’ve googled and found suggestions of holding a steam iron close to it. I’m a bit nervous to try this on a brand new shade but obviously can’t take it back now. Has anyone tried it or got another suggestion please?
I would have said an iron too CC. Although I would have actually tried to place it on something to give pressure, cover the dent with a hanky and press the iron onto the hanky, thus protecting the shade.
The iron didn’t work. The inside of the lampshade is plastic so I tried very gently. I used the steam on the fabric side too. Nothing altered so will now just live with the dents. Grrrr!
