I can't help you as such Jazzy nut... I use the paper carrier bags from Morrisons as bin liners, they are moisture proof, very strong etc and make good bin liners. I have square ikea bins for the kitchen so fit perfectly.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I get some cleaning products from their site too, ECO VER washing up liquid is 20% off at the mo, and other ECO VER cleaning products have 20% off. Tesco stock the washing up liquid, but it is cheaper on Big Green smile.
You have to be careful tho9ugh as there is a delivery charge for orders less than £ 55,only £ 2.75 flat charge so not too bad. It's 'carbon neutral' delivery too
That's a great question Jazzy - I have tried really hard this year to become more eco-aware but bin liners is a tough one - if you use a sub-standard one, you end up having to double up (which completely defeats the object!) - will check out site CJ mentioned.
I have almost eliminated the use of paper towel by buying some bamboo cloths which have turned out to be a fab buy. Also bought some Lakeland elasticated covers (to avoid having to use so much clingfilm - they look like little shower caps and seem to be durable as I've had them a fair few months now and they're holding up well to use/washing) and beeswax wraps.
Please share any other tips that I may adopt in my quest to be more environmentally friendly
