My garden is showing signs that Spring is on it's way. Primulas that have been flowering for most of the winter. Now my Aconite is in full bloom, dads snowdrops are lovely and I have a miniature daffodils in flower.

Loving the snowdrops Trisha. I have only just noticed them in the grass verges near us. The weather is warm this week and wonder how many other flowers are going to appear or be frightened off by a blast a cold winds !
We have two Hornbeam trees, that I am eager to move before the end of the month, whilst they are dormant, but I'm convinced I can see buds forming, which is not great.
That cheers everything up Trisha and SD when you see it's on it's way. I'm sure I saw some buds on one of the hedges and some yellow flowers have appeared (from previous owner) out front. I'm not sure what they are though.
I was thinking of moving a few things myself SD, I'd better start before it's too late.

To be honest B, I have got the most weeds ever, I have lost my Monty mojo this year, it will return, but hey, the bees are loving all the wildflowers, nothing growing on our allotment either, as my daughter in law said she was growing produce this year so I didn’t interfere and what with one thing and another nothing got started, not to worry, just a little blip 😀
Best laid plans eh, never mind, she can plan again for the winter season maybe. I think there's stuff to grown through the winter.
That's the trouble Jazzy, once you create a garden, it's a lot of maintenance. Monty makes it look a doddle but he must have a team of gardeners to help with all that. I guess we're looking into a serene world of him potting up and planting out...great viewing though, great escapism
Things I put in last year have really started to fill out nicely.
Bottle brush plants
Manuka honey bushes
Butterfly bushes
Beautiful Japonica tree
Castor oil plants
Phorniums
Loads of bamboos, great for instant height and I like they way they move with the breeze.
My jewel bed, which also has a date palm as the centre piece is coming on,
Only one of my exotic dhalias came through Trisha, but it is a beauty and is looking very healthy.
I have a few kabochas, runner beans and marrow growing on a smaller scale this year. Giant sunflowers and nasturtiums

Your garden sounds so colourful and pretty B, you’ve really been busy and should be so proud of yourself, I can remember when you could kill a plant at 50 paces away, not now though
Lots of plants that we don’t have in our garden B! It sounds exotic. You should video your development and send in to Monty for next year’s programme. With being away so much we have only just potted up our tubs today. There wasn’t a lot of choice of plants and I know being so late they won’t be great but at least we’ll have some colour. OH has the greenhouse and veg patch which I don’t get involved with. I love our wild garden. Not as many flowers this year but I was excited to see some yellow rattle had reappeared.
Thank you Jazzy, yes I've come on strides..i'll tell you, it helps to dress the part
You've been quite the Jet setter CC, not surprised you haven't had the time but pots are lovely to do too.
My exotic Dhalia is a monster, it's really doing so well, when it blooms I will take a photo for Trisha, she'll be proud of me
It looks like we'll have to stay here for the forseable future because of recent events. My garden has become my therapy and sanctuary when needed.
My next question is..how can you use and enjoy your garden in the autumn and winter?
Maybe i'll get a chance to watch some back to back Monty later this evening. Also love Carole Klein program, she's another very soothing gardener to watch.

B, your Jewel bed looks beautiful. You talented lady. You have done such a lot in the short time that you have been there. For Autumn colour, try some shrubs that turn red later in the year eg Acer or Virginia creeper. Maybe winter flowering pansies and Aconites. My garden has been a bit neglected this year, I really need to get some goodness into the soil.

Winter flowering pansies and aconites - I'll look them up Trisha. I heard hellibores flower in the winter too, never had them before. Acers are very pretty.
You have the right image in your head Jazzy, that's me..brown dungarees and a bandana to stop my hair scorching and a permanent look of puzzlement on my face
Ah, now what I meant was... how can I still use my garden in the winter, maybe a sheltered seating nook with a firepit thing. So I can be outside but keep warm. All my main things ive planted are evergreen, so my garden is lush all year round... none of this bare nonsense. The only non evergreen I planted was a common birch.
I made something out of a toddler bed to go under my japonica tree. I will take a photo and post it tomorrow
