What do you do with the left over candle glass containers, when the candle is finished ? I seem to have so many. I did use up a lot when our daughter got married and conveniently left them at the property.
Do you just discard into glass recycle, although some of the containers are very pretty shapes with lids and coloured glass.
I’ve kept some with nice shapes but mostly clean them out and then donate to a charity shop. I also had a go at making my own but they weren’t great. I saw someone reusing tea candles which is probably much easier as less chance of air bubbles getting in.
I make my own soy candles, but still like to buy/receive as gifts 'proper' ones, so I keep all the old jars/glasses with a view to refilling them at some point with a new candle.
I did see someone on Youtube saying you can clean them up and use them to put cotton buds/pencils in, depending on the size/style. To get the remainder of wax out, put the glass in the freezer for a while as it's easier to chip it out when it's very cold.
Love the idea of repurposing candle jars! I'm in the same boat with accumulating them. Such a thoughtful touch to refill them with your own soy candles! Have you ever considered checking out tips on candle recycling at candlelore.com? They might have some creative suggestions for those beautiful glass containers!
