I've been doing it for about 26 years, I did teach an after-school class at my children's primary school in it for a few years before they left there, but I haven't done it for a few years. Recently had a good sort out and got the bug for it again. Currently working on a ship in a bottle, a cob horse (which I had charted from a picture I took) and have a New York skyline with glow in the dark threads on my "to be stitched" pile.
Dogs come when called, cats take a message and get back to you at their convenience.
I have done cross stitch for years. I used to mainly do Advent calendars. I haven't been able to concentrate on stitching for a while. Earlier this week I started a Michael Powell lighthouse. I haven't really done much of it though. I do love the Bothy kits.
Been cross stitching for a long time. Have a greyhound kit to do. Last piece was a secret Elster gift that I dud from a chart I made fir a lady I didn’t know. She was really pleased with it luckily as took 3 months to do
I haven't done any cross-stitch for about 25 years - I did used to like doing it but just got out of the habit I suppose. I have an advent calendar which I made with cross-stitched pockets and we still get out every year, I also cross-stitched Christmas cards that year. Maybe I should take it up again.
I used to do a lot of cross stitch when my children were small and I didn’t need glasses 😄 I used to get magazines and use their patterns - usually small animals. A lovely thing to teach your granddaughter Trisha, I remember learning in primary school and loving it 🥰
I've been cross stitching for a long time - knocking on 30 years, and do it pretty much all my down time. I stitch while watching the TV and if there's nothing I want to watch, I listen to my audio book. I was incredibly productive during lockdown when I was furloughed and I do miss having 8 hours+ of the day to stitch now that I am back to work. My stash already exceeded my life expectancy, but it has grown even more and I have about 4 or 5 projects lined up to go before spring. I like stitching big things - the occasional card or small picture is fine, but I much prefer something I can really get my teeth into. My daughter has just taken up cross stitch again as she is currently living back here for a short time and has mum to help when she gets stuck.
Hello horses1. What do you do with everything you make? A friend stitched a beautiful piece when my YD was little with her name which I had framed. It’s the one time that I did try to do it again since school days but I never really got my first letter off the ground. Judging from your username, I’m guessing you have horses too. Or am I wrong? Anyway nice to have you here and to have your input.
Hi Horses1, I’m a quilter and my fabric stash was getting out of hand until I started making masks - I totally understand that shopping for future projects has nothing to do with how many you already have 😄
