I’ve been home for 5 weeks. As the Greyhound Rescues are struggling as unable to fundraise during this tIme I thought I would use the time to make more stock ready to sell when lockdown is over. I’ve managed to sell 4 of the bags already and got orders for 4 more. Really enjoying making these.....
there is no end to your talents VW. I love your bags! How much are you charging for them?
Thanks LL - they vary from £25 to £35 depending on the materials used. Any profit in them is going to the rescues. Tomorrow I am going to make some retro macrame plant hangers - using up the lengths of cotton rope I have after making the bags. It's been nice having time to make these as after work I don't always feel like doing anything more complicated than blankets etc.
OMG! if I could have liked them 100 times I would have done! Have you sold all the ones in the photos? I would love one of those VW, are the ones shown all the same price? I'm so excited by these, I love the Blue one..and the Green one
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Hahah Bellatrix - calm down!! The green and black ones have gone. The cream one still here (£35). I have a soft green one like it half finished, and today another 8 skeins arrived in different colours to make more. I've also made 6 macrame plant hangers - they were really fun to do, and took me back to making them when I was much younger. Sold 2 of those too. Loads of cash here for the rescues which is what it's all about LL - I made one as a birthday present for a friend yesterday - started at 3pm and finished about 9pm. Normally I would spend an evening crocheting the outside, and another evening sewing on the handles and lining. Staying home crafting would be perfect for me, but sadly no money in it. People won't pay for the time put it, when they can buy much cheaper alternatives that are mass produced. The materials for the bags cost me about £25 plus postage to order the bits in. Love making them though, and may do a craft fair later in the year if things open back up again
Tried to calm down and not look again but no, think they're really lovely and want one I'll message you soon (when I've got more money) and we'll talk bags

I somehow missed this original post - they are absolutely gorgeous VWC - you should definitely turn this into a side hustle (although it's lovely you are doing it for the rescue). I would definitely love one! Please let me know if you have any for sale, now or in the future

Aw thank you. Got a few orders via Instagram which is quite exciting. Made a mustard one today with a cactus print lining. Made 2 dozen now.

Thanks so much Jax. Means a lot to get positive feedback. If you use Instagram I am hels_handicrafts lots of colours available. Making to order at the mo, as a fair few people got in touch which is great. Would love to give up work and do it full time but just wouldn’t pay sadly
