Hi to everyone, I'm new here, creating bead embroidered jewelry is my hobby. Now I'm experimenting with colours a shapes, and want to hear true opinion and critics to create smth that people will like. Here are few necklaces (here there more my creations, if have a look and write your opinion about my other works I will be very grateful)
They are beautiful Dazi. I used to make jewellery myself and found the problem with selling it was that the components and the time which I put into each piece made it hard to make a profit when up against mass produced pieces sold cheaply in the High Street. Good luck with it, you are clearly very talented.
Thank you Jax for so kind words. Yeah unfortunately it takes so much time and materials aren't cheap, have so many ideas but don't enough time. That's why I want to hear what people think about it, may be I'm just wasting nights creating it, though I enjoy it so much
Your photographs are also great, they show the detail very well (not always easy to get good photos of jewellery) - have you thought of selling through Etsy or one of those websites .... I haven't done it myself (don't think it was going when I was in business) but it may be worth a go. I found the enjoyment came from making it, rather than having to find venues to try to sell my wares, then the recession hit in 2009 and it all became too difficult to keep it going. I did find a local independent shoe shop which sold some of my stuff on a commission only basis, but that then got too difficult when they had to start charging VAT, but it was a good way of distributing. The second piece looks to me as though it could be something which could be adapted for the bridal market - if you have a local independent bridal shop, it might be worth having a chat with them.
Oohh they are stunning, You made them yourself! You are very talented, lovely photographs too:) You're definitely not wasting your time. With Christmas coming up maybe you could make enough to sell at some of the Christmas markets, most towns hold them at the beginning of December.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
They are beautiful dazi. I agree with jax, could you take them to a bridal shop. Explain they are not mass produced, each one is a 'one off' bespoke etc.
"I am doing the best I can with what I have in this moment; and that is all I can expect of anyone including me"
I like the black one especially. End of school balls; low necked dramatic ball gowns. Girls will pay a fortune for the right jewellery around here. £300 for a dress. You could offer pieces designed by commission. Badpuss
