With the new Netflix show having just hit the screens, the news is full of the H&M 'revelations'.
I won't be watching their soap opera, honestly I'm not remotely interested, but do have a view of course. I used to watch Meghan in 'Suits' ... she was a half-decent actress, but I think now she is a really good one! What on earth did she expect marrying into the Royal Family? I am referring to the press intrusion, pomp & ceremony of course - you either don't marry a Prince or you suck it up and tow the line in my opinion (I wouldn't have wanted to be embroiled with them myself, but you can't change an institution like that just because you want to).
Racism however is a completely different thing, it's intolerable in every way in every situation. Like many countries, we have a way to go unfortunately before everyone is treated equally regardless of their colour, beliefs, gender etc, but to try to portray the country as basically being bigots is just not right or fair. The Royal Family is old-fashioned and needs reforming, the inappropriate treatment of a charity boss at Buckingham Palace by an aide demonstrates that perfectly, but surely to make change happen you have to work from within, not lob rocks from outside.
To me, Meghan looks like an attention-seeker and Harry a jealous younger brother who admittedly lost his mother (who was also naive to marry an ageing Prince who needed her to produce an heir) at a very young age which must have been devastating, but I just don't know what they hope to gain from all this exposure apart from slating the Royals and getting vast sums of money for "telling their truth". They must've been planning this for a long time, taking into account the amount of footage they have going back to well before they decided to move to the US and as for using footage of press photographers who were supposedly hounding them which has turned out to be from totally different scenarios (including the Harry Potter film premiere) - well that just about says it all!
