Our forum was originally built with a house in mind so that different topics in our lives would have their own sections. Hence we have the kitchen for sharing recipes, exchanging advice on household problems, etc. The Living Room, Garden, similarly used for discussions relevant to those rooms.
It is time for a review and shake up so that we retain an appealing forum and one that is current.
We would love your input. Please give us your ideas on how you think we should go forward. Are their topics that we are missing or perhaps no longer relevant? Clearly we cannot appeal to everyone and should not try to.
Love this forum for it's friendliness, it's a happy place , so much aggression on other forums and out in the world in general. It's been a treat to come here for help and guidance and comfort for so long. I agree, like any house we share, it's good to decorate and mend the plumbing
Would be nice to see a "guest bedroom" that guests and members could post in and still keep the "Master bedroom" for members only. In the past 10 years so many things have changed, science ,tech and inventions, the way we now live, working from home , an abundance of different hobbies people now do and Gardening and plants have grown to be something that has taken lives by storm for all ages.
The intricacies of politics and religion are something I would keep away from, so that we continue to be as one on here, although I would like to be able to say Happy Diwali, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Ramadan etc. Hanukkah is coming and food for this celebration is so good so the Kitchen can be a place of celebrating with those foods
I guess Admin can tell what's not being used to it's full potential and make that call.
Always loved the rooms format, gives it a cosy homely feel...perhaps we could do with a fireplace
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I agree with B that this is a friendly place and although there's not many of us, and sadly people come and go, being small makes you feel like you really know other members and we are very supportive of each other. The format isn't as important as the people from my perspective.
I like the 'members only' section as there has been stuff these last cpl of days which you are aware of that I wouldn't have wanted to put on otherwise. This forum is absolutely fantastic, I've never know another one like it and shall always remain on it
"I am doing the best I can with what I have in this moment; and that is all I can expect of anyone including me"
I would be happy to post interesting items for the greater good in a guest bedroom. I don't think it will encourage guests to post as such, but they may find an answer to something, which could encourage them to join. We need more members, we need to be current and progress and to fill our lives with great ideas, happy thoughts and good vibes.

I like the new layout with the pink border, but I can’t post in the ‘Shoutbox’ I type in the white box and press everything possible and nothing happens?

Jazzy I have added a Send button, so hopefully that may help for you to join in. Let me know how it goes ?

The rooms idea will be staying, as that is our identity as Womens Thoughts. We will definitely be keeping the members section and areas of sensitivity discussed will be prohibited to longstanding members of considerable postings.
Areas where guests can see and talk will expand to cover more topics and therefore increase the visiting figures. They needn't join, but sometimes people just need to chat at that moment.
Please post any further views or ideas that come to mind.
Alterations will take place over the next few weeks, but this will not disrupt the forum or the main talking boards.
I also like the ongoing sticky threads, brilliant idea
My suggestions would be
An ongoing eco thread where we could exchange regular ideas and experiences for making everyday small changes in doing our 'bit' in our every day lives from which company uses the most eco friendly 'bag' in a tea bag to 'are bamboo mattresses really made of bamboo?' .....small really is beautiful re helping the environment.
An ongoing travel/photo thread. Foreign and UK travel, we post after the 'event' to maintain security, I have loved learning about the 'sea glass' beach posted in another thread, and reading that post just makes me want to visit....it would also give each other a bit more of an insight to our lives without giving away too much personal info. We all love a beautiful photo of a location, beautiful architecture , garden etc.
Maybe a travel and a photo thread...
A 'useful information' thread where we can share information and advice about organisations, retail experiences, advice centres, local councils/authorities, house selling/purchasing, legal issues etc
A 'Something to tickle yer funny bone ' thread...a make you smile thread where we can post about anything which has made us smile that day...a funny remark from children, something overheard in a queue, a one liner joke or a very long joke , an amusing photo.
All these threads could be in the guest bedroom section, only accessible once a person registers as a member.
Would it be a good idea to have a thread just for the techie stuff..ie how to post images from a computer, or photos from your phone, how to resize images/photos etc for posting?
Also, we all need to put our birthdays on the birthday list...I will add mine today
Finally...get rid of Ed Sheeran....he's been lurking too long and I don't think he intends becoming a member, I think he is the real reason all these people join and then leave ...sorry BellaT...just saying
Jeepers Cj, what box have you been standing on today Acctually love all your ideas. I'd clap hands, but there isn't an icon for that, perhaps one can be added to the emoji's ?
Great ideas Cj, I love the shout box too, it's like a thread all of it's own...I have nothing to do with Ed Sheeran but the competitions box could go, couldn't it?

Cj, just a quick one, you mentioned Birthday list. Birthdays come up at the bottom if you click on view Birthdays, you just need to put your birthday on your profile, then you'll get cake...virtual cake anyway.
